It's that time of the month again where the Internet is full with monthly favourites videos and posts. And obviously, I'm not going to be the one to fall out of line. So here we are, me talking about my oh so interesting monthly favourites - or at least, I find that they are worth the one or other mention and some recognition.

Let's start things off with some skincare products! As I've said in my 5 Goals For 2018 Post, I want to make an effort with my skincare and be more economic with makeup on the other side. And that's exactly what I'm currently doing.

For example, I decided to "invest" in La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel which I use to take off my makeup and to clean my skin twice a day. I've tried using milk, remover wipes, micellar water and co before, to remove my makeup but I've come to the conclusion that gel and water go the long way for me. Even though La Roche-Posay isn't the most affordable gel cleanser out there, I feel like it's worth every penny so I'm definitely going to stick with it in the future.

My cream of choice this month was Schaebens Totes Meer Salbe (which translated, means Dead Sea Cream basically). This one was recommended to me some time ago and I've had a tube of it with me ever since. This month, I rediscovered it for myself and am wondering why I ever stopped using it. My skin has gotten clearer since using it; it feels softer and deeply moisturised; and it costs only around 4€ - what more could one ask for? So even though I've been using my ALEX Moisturising Cream, that I've reviewed in my First Impressions // Alex Skincare Post not too long ago, for quite some time this month, I've always seen myself reaching for the Schaebens cream over and over again.

I've also used quite a lot of the Simple Kind to Eyes Soothing Eye Balm to keep my eyes moisturised. Being the good blogger that I am, I've loved the classic Clinique eye cream as well, but being a student, I feel like it's too expensive to use it on an everyday basis so I found this one as a good, cheaper alternative.

Moving on to hair, I have a new favourite: L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil. I've tried out quite a lot of different hair oils so far, but none of them made my hair look this shiny and silky (is that even a word?). I use it immediately after washing my hair and (rare occasion, but still) before blow-drying it.

Makeup-wise, I've been obsessed with my ALEX Royal BB Cream that I talked about in my First Impressions // Alex Skincare Post as well. It feels like a moisturising cream on the skin and doesn't have an intense coverage (which is a given since it's a BB Cream) which has been my favourite look for this last 2 months. I'll usually go in with a concealer after using this nonetheless, just to cover any spots and imperfections that I have, just before setting everything with a finely melt powder.

Next up is an oldie but goodie: Maybelline Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in 25 Orange Shot. I've reviewed this product about a year ago in a First Impressions post but have only recently starting wearing it more often. It has such a nice finish and colour - you should definitely give it a try next time you're at your local Boots or Superdrug.

I've also revived my little love affair with MAC Lustre Lipstick in Shy Shine. I've been a huge fan of MAC lipsticks for years now, which explains my slightly bigger-than-normal lipstick collection where I've recently found this little gem back and have been using it ever since. It's a very neutral colour that suits many different types in my opinion and has a longlasting formula without drying out the lips too much.

Last up is the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate. I've decided that it's probably about time to start doing my brows, so I wanted to give this one a shot. I think I might repurchase it in another colour since this shade is a bit too warm-toned for me, but overall, it's doing a pretty good job.

  1. I've been wanting to try out those maybelline liquid lipsticks, they look so pretty!

    1. You should: I've got 2 different shades and I love them both! To be fair, I still don't get the "matte" part in the name, since they are everything but matte, but except for that, they are incredible (especially for the price)! xx

  2. That lipstick color is everything! So in love!
    Xoxo, Josipa!

    1. Thank you! You should check it out, I'm obsessed with it! xx

  3. Great reccomendstions lovely! I really want to start caring for my skin a bit more xx - https://robynpoppy.co.uk

    1. Thank you! Go for it, I feel so much better since I put more effort into my skin care than my makeup routine, and I'm sure you will, too xx
